Strawberry Cake

Granny Lucy's recipe. She makes this every year for Christie's Birthday since it's her favorite. It's not a strawberry cake like the ones you usually see, with either whole strawberries in the cake mix or strawberry jam between layers. The strawberries are blended up into the cake mix so that the consistency is like a normal white or chocolate cake. Then it's topped off with very rich strawberry flavored icing. The whole thing comes out pink and it's so rich you can barely eat an entire piece. Milk required.

Cake Ingredients
White cake mix
4 eggs
1 c. partially drained strawberries (don't drain them completely, you need the juice)
1 pkg. (6 oz.) strawberry jello
3/4 c. cooking oil

Frosting Ingredients
1/2 c. butter
1 bx. powdered sugar
1 pkg. dream whip. (this can be tough to find, so just leave it out or substitute a few tbsp. of Cool Whip for a fluffier frosting)
1/2 c. strawberries

Directions
Mix all cake ingredients together
Pour into 9x13 pan
Bake @350 for 30-35 minutes
Mix frosting ingredients except strawberries together, beat well, then add in strawberries and beat slowly till fully blended.
Cool cake all the way down before spreading on frosting

Note how pink the actual cake is!
